UPDATE Nov 16th - According to my attorneys, Kohl’s is still refusing to take responsibility for this flagrant theft. They are not cooperating. Please feel free to share or re-post this blog entry. Please help me get the word out that this is not acceptable. - Lili

As a follow up from my original blog post on this subject, a legal complaint has now been filed against Kohl’s.Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my work! Thank you for standing by me, and respecting the rights of independent artists like myself. A big thank you also to my attorneys without whom this pursuit of justice would not be affordable.

SHOPPERS: If you see any of my designs on products in any stores and if my name is not attached to the product, then it is very likely that I have not licensed these designs to them.  As you may have read, many large clothing retailers have been ripping off independent artists and until justice is served, we can all be smarter consumers.

ARTISTS: Protect your copyrights! You can register and submit your images and payment online.

More art theft.

I seem to be sending in DMCA take down notices EVERY WEEK. This week it’s Teezilly (France) and Teechip (again for the second third time).

1. My French Bulldogs phone case can be purchased from my collection at www.casetify.com/lilichin  I did not authorize the version below on the right, and I don’t get paid a cent for these sales. I have written to Teezily. No response yet. 

I first saw these images on www.facebook.com/frenchbulldogwd but they deleted my comments and have blocked me from further commenting.

2. Last week, I had this mug campaign removed from www.teechip.com for copyright infringement. This Frenchie is Mooby Moo - a private pet portrait commission from 2011. You can see the original image on my website at www.doggiedrawings.net/petportraits

This week, there is another campaign on Teechip that uses the same illustration of Mooby Moo. Someone has chopped off the head and stuck this on a different body. (I have just been informed this is also a rip-off of Life Is Good)  I have sent in another DMCA take down notice. No response yet. 

UPDATE: CAMPAIGN REMOVED and has been ACTIVATED AGAIN for the 2nd time.

If you are planning to buy any dog or cat tank tops, t-shirts or hoodies for the holidays, please do so before November 30th.

The www.doggietops.com shop will be closed for a couple of weeks. Some possible changes:

- Due to many complaints about American Apparel’s “smaller than normal” sizes, we will be switching to a different garment label.

- For hoodies, will be switching from Hanes and Bella Canvas to the Gildan label where discontinued colors and sizes will be less likely.

-  Possible addition of kid’s t-shirts and also dog/cat breed tote bags.

In the meantime, you can still place CUSTOM TOP orders.
